Ans. One does not become civilized by using money and power. Civilization not just being splendid and grand and living in luxury.
धन और शक्ति के प्रयोग से कोई सभ्य नहीं हो सकता। सभ्यता शानशौकत और शानदार आरामदायक जीवन जीने में नहीं होती।

Ans. People do the following things when they are civilized :
(i) make beautiful things likeplays. pictures and music, (ii) thinknew thoughts freely,
(iii) are good, and
(iv) obey the laws.
According to Joad, being civilized means making beautiful things, thinking freely and thinking new things and keeping the rules.
लोग सभ्य हो जाने पर निम्न बातें करते हैं।
(i) नाटक, तस्वीरें तथा संगीत जैसी सुन्दर वस्तुएँ बनाते हैं,

Ans. People hesitate to think and act differently from others because other people do not like it. Besides this, the priests call it to be a sin against the established
law of the old.
